Entré: 30 kr. i døren. 25 kr. i forsalg

An evening with 2012 Man Booker shortlisted author, Alison Moore at Walton library A writer’s dream has come true for Alison Moore. Her debut novel, The Lighthouse, has been shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize 2012. Published by Salt Publishing, an independent publisher based in Norfolk, the novel is described as “thrilling”, “spare” and “unsettling” by various literary reviewers. It is the tale of an ordinary, inconspicuous man which shows how terrible things can happen in the most unexpected ways. It examines grief, loss, rejection and abandonment and the central question of the hurt involved in leaving and being left. The ending is “ambiguous”, “thrilling” and “brutal”.
Alison’s short stories have been published in various anthologies including Best British Short Stories 2011. She has been shortlisted for the Bridport Prize and the Scott Prize and won first prize in the novella category of the The New Writer Prose and Poetry Prizes.
She will be discussing her first novel, the impact of the Man Booker Prize shortlisting on her life and her writing and will be answering questions from the audience. (Rivendell)… (más)
