sci fi short story

Hi i was wondering if anyone could help me with the name of two short stories.
The first is about the imprint on a house of a family left by nuclear fallout and the second is about a fmily who take their son for testing at a facility only for him to be euthanised because he never passed the test... if anybody knows the names of these stories or even what book they are in I'd be grateful.

The one about the imprint on a house of a family left by nuclear fallout is nagging at me. I know that story, but can't think of it right now.

The second about the family taking their son for testing is 'Examination Day' by Henry Slesar. It's one of his stories that the 1985 incarnation of The Twilight Zone adapted. It looks like you can read the story online, for free legitimately. Try typing "Examination Day" "Henry Slesar" into google.

I'm pretty sure that first story is 'There Will Come Soft Rains' by Ray Bradbury. It's one of the stories in The Martian Chronicles.
