Ever wonder while you are running, "what am I doing wrong?" Ever wish someone could help analyze your stride and give you tips to improve? Well, this book does that and more. With great illustrations to help you anaylize your posture, your footstrike, your swimming stroke, your cycling technique, this book can help take apart each aspect of the process, and rebuild your technique. I love the fact that you can use the stretches and strengthening exercises at home, improving your triathlon performance before ever heading outside. Great book, great resource. My husband does triathlons and has found that he does follow many things in the book already, and has refined other things by reading the book. I am also in the fitness industry, and though triathlons aren't my thing, I have learned a few new ways to stretch and work certain muscles myself. I like how it breaks down the three parts of the race and gives examples of what to train for and stretch for each section. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. Early reviewer:There is a ton of information in this book. I really love the exercises and the explanations on why I need to do them. I have done 2 triathlons. I think book will help in the future ones that I do. I don't think it is a complete substitute for hiring a coach but can be used a nice compliment. I am not a triathlete by any means but I do love watching people push through the course and really not believing that people do this to themselves. But reading this book I have learned how triathletes put their bodies through to just train for this grueling sport. I also loved how most of the training in this book is good for every day people to work out and get their bodies in to shape. My husband has already been using some of the running exercises to build up his walking and running sessions. It has really made me look at these people in a different light. I really enjoy reading this book and getting motivated into working these exercises into my routine. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Traditionally the focus of triathlon is on volume, intensity, and training periodization--doing particular workouts during the months, weeks, and days leading up to a race. But what if you could improve performance without logging extra distance on the road or in the water? That is the promise of Triathletes in Motion: Assessing Movement for World-Class Technique and Performance. In this book, Marc Evans introduces the Evans Assessment principle and makes the case that every triathlon training regimen should start with the physical assessments of movement. By looking carefully at movements during these assessments, you can detect limitations to mobility, flexibility, strength, and stability. These limiters cannot be corrected by traditional technique instruction alone, so Evans presents specific exercises and tests that address each one. The results are greater efficiency, fewer injuries, and faster performances. Whether you are a veteran triathlete seeking a performance breakthrough, a newer triathlete starting the training season, or a coach or member of a triathlon federation searching for that edge, training should start with Triathletes in Motion. This resource includes hundreds of tests and exercises to help triathletes swim, cycle, and run faster and more economically. Marc Evans was triathlon's first professional coach and has consulted, coached, collaborated with, and mentored some of the biggest names in the sport, including Dave Scott and Scott Tinley. His coauthor, Jane Cappaert, is a leading expert in sport biomechanics. Now they make their unique expertise available to everyone in Triathletes in Motion.
