Descripción:
Constructed in 1978, this 65000 square foot library is the main branch of the sixteen-branch KFPL system. Public-access computers, extensive CD/DVD media collection, a hundred thousand printed books, meeting rooms. Reopened Mar 23, 2019 after being closed for extensive renovation in Nov 2016. The original architects Lily Inglis and Wilfred Sorensen incorporated the historic Bishop's House into the branch, which is built on former church lands.

The Central Branch is the largest of five urban branches; the others are in Calvin Park, Rideau Heights and one each for the former Kingston Township and Pittsburgh Township. The Kingscourt branch was closed permanently in 2017.

There are eleven small rural branches: Arden, Cloyne, Hartington, Howe Island, Mountain Grove, Parham, Plevna, Sharbot Lake, Storrington, Sydenham and Wolfe Island. The Ompah branch was abandoned in 2011 and has since been reopened by local volunteers as the independent Ompah Community Library.
