Dewey and fdholt

I am joining the challenge and adding books that I've read within the last few months. I have also challenged myself to write reviews so this will be an important part of this challenge - I will allow myself to list a book with an asterisk if unreviewed but that asterisk will be a reminder. I may also use the same books in other challenges.

The Dewey I use may be ones assigned by LC or by my academic library. With DDC23 due out in just a few months, it will be interesting to see shifts in numbers.

Let the challenge begin.

#13 Since I want to review, many books need to be re-read or at least re-skimmed and that will take time. The other problem is that I have a lot of books in certain Deweys like 746 and 796. So this is going to be a real challenge. But I consider it a lifetime project. And a way to build reading in areas I don't normally read.

>14 fdholt: Very good, I think for those of us doing the whole challenge making it a lifetime thing is the way to go. And kudos on your commitment to reviewing, I try to write a little something for most of the books I read and I've found it personally rewarding since it helps me remember the content and my response down the line.

14, 16: I'm just hoping LT is around long enough for me to finish the challenge! The internet might be obsolete by the time I'm done.

17: I read your review--that does seem like an odd and harmful approach. It sounds a lot like old ideas about humours.

Regarding your review of Louise Hay - reminded me of when I took one of my children to my favorite old doc with a dog bite. He said give her 1000 mg of Vitamin C (i may have the number wrong but you get the point - lots) every hour, and I'm going to give her a penicillin shot. I loved him.

I have tried to make realistic goals this year with all my challenges. With my Dewey, I will try to get 4 groups in each category. Since I've met that goal in everything but 100, 400 and 800's, that should be doable.
