Graphic Classics Volume 8: Mark Twain - 2nd Edition… por Mark Twain
I have no memory of having read this--had it entered as Various Works and not even sure this is the correct book. Sigh.
I picked this up to read "Lot No. 249", and that one was the best of the bunch! I also enjoyed "Cool Air" and "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari". So, one star for each! "A Curious Dream" by Mark Twain wasn't good, and "Halloween" by Mort Castle was terrible. And the pages in between the stories with "Nerwin the Docent" were awful, awful, awful - cringe worthy so! Cut HIM from all future copies please!!!
Good Christmas Carol adaptation (though not as good as Joe Staton's Classics Illustrated version) and great adaptation of Sherlock Holmes' Blue Carbuncle story among other fun holiday reads.

The only story of the four that I’ve wanted to read is The Picture of Dorian Gray. The rest weren’t even on my radar. The entire anthology is done in black and white and each story has its own illustrator and author who adapted it.
The Picture of Dorian Gray ~ While I’ve never read the original story I had an idea of what it’s about and this seems to be a fairly decent adaptation. Also, the artwork is gorgeous.
The Canterville Ghost ~ Kinda amusing and while the artwork is very detailed it isn’t really my style.
Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime ~ The story seemed stupid, but I liked the artwork.
Salome ~ This story seemed even more stupid than the previous one and I didn’t like the artwork. So it’s my least favorite of the four.… (más)
