My only problem with this book is that the evil Sonath (leader of the Typhon group) is not apprehended and dealt with in the end. I can only assume he will return with his henchmen to make trouble in future stories.

Alanna Lucas gives the reader a quick, fun read about a reformed rake who quickly falls in love with a woman who knows his reputaion and is trying to avoid him. After Lucius has had a riding accident, leaving his with a facial scar and limp he isn't ready to get back on a horse until he meets Adele Sutherland who works on her father's farm raising and training horses. between Addie and her nephew Matthew, Lucius is smitten but how can he convince her that he has changed and now wants a lifetime of love. THE SPYMASTER'S SECRET by Alanna Lucas is a fast paced, well written and easy to follow story of love, romance, secrets, and danger with a HEA. The plot was masterfully written. "The Spymaster's Secret is the sequel to Only a Hero Will Do", but it can be read as a stand alone.
Athena and Sir Simon are fantastic characters, they were friends in the past, but a traumatic night, six years prior causes her to question him. Why did he do what he did to her mother, and her fiancee, she blames Sir Simon entirely. I absolutely adored Athena and Sir Simon. Circumstances are not always what they seem. Just be prepared for a bit of action, challenges and struggles to find their HEA. An absolute delight to read. Strongly recommended for fans of Historical Romance, secrecy, spies and love. Well done!!
