Minfong Ho

This is a great book to bring perspective about Thai culture and some of the animals that are in Thailand. This is also beautifully presented illustratively and the storyline is presented in a beautiful lullaby form.

I love this style of mixed media collage! The illustrations were fantastic and the lullaby was very cute.

A mother is trying to put her baby to sleep and quiet all the animals around her. By the time she quits all the animals, her baby wakes up. This book about poetry could be used to ask students about how they prepare for bed and what are some of the routines their family has. I would use this in a 3rd or 4th grade classroom.

This book could be a read aloud for primary aged students.
This book is about a mother telling animals to be quiet while her child is sleeping.
I would use this book to introduce poetry to my students and the concept of repetition in poetry.
