Summary

"Octopuses" gives basic information about octopuses. This includes a physical description of their bodies. It also includes how and what they eat, how and where they live and what they do to survive possible attacks from predators.

Critique

This is a simple book but is loaded with information that is appropriate for beginning readers and beginning science students. There is lots of new vocabulary for beginning readers that will open to them an awareness of terms that will be used in future scientific study. They also become aware of other creatures than what they are used to encountering on a regular basis.

Mini Lesson

White arrows that overlay the photographs help point out anatomical features of the crab, which also makes this a good informational book because it is clear and easy for the intended level of reader to understand and learn from.… (más)
