This book is very simple yet informative and would be perfect for first grade or second grade children to read by themselves because the sentences are fairly simple, but have some bigger, more complex words. This book would also be a great read aloud to kindergarten children because it is just above their reading level. The illustrations in this book are real pictures, not art created by someone. Like other Blastoff! Readers books this book also given a level determined by literary experts. They use the standards set by the state and developmentally appropriate text to create these books and the levels to rate them. This book discusses fall weather, different plants and animals in the fall, and what people do in the fall. I really love that there is a glossary at the end of the book of words the child might not know. –Katie Jewett
