This series is very negative and problematic. We find these children with names and a picture in the back, still explaining the generalized difficulty of their autism. While it is intended to help start a conversation with a neurotypical kid who is not being inclusive of their disabled peers, I hate how many probles this child has, with very little balance of where they find joy or how they expereince their lives in ways that would be familiar to other kids.

This book is about a boy named Danton who is deaf. Both his parents and his sister are deaf, hence they are able to communicate easily with one another. In school, Danton is in classes where they only communicate in ASL, but they are the same classes that the hearing students are in. Danton explains how not everyone at school is nice to him, but he has a group of deaf friends that he loves to play with and spend time with.
