Story starts out with Silas and he's the leader of the hockey team. This is also about his sister who has passed away and she left her daughter with him to take care of.
He had NO idea she even had a daughter.
Story also follow Palmona who is a nanny and the pay helps her with her mothers care. The two boys she was in charge with had graduated and were on their way to college but they still stay in touch with her-more than their parents.
She takes on the job with Silas to tend to Beatrix and they bond easily. She helps SIlas with things he can do and say to bond with Beatrix also.
Palmona mother has a stroke and just when things were going well with them all.
Silas is about to adopt Beatrix but then the real father is in the picture.
Things were going just so well for them til it's no longer the case...
Lots of adult situations and language. Leaned a lot more about hockey, which sounds like fun. Ends with other works by the author.

I have read books about hockey players before, but I never would have thought a hockey coach could be hot. Needless to say, this author has changed my mind.
Silas is a hockey player turned coach, and he’s the youngest coach in the NHL. So that has put a lot of pressure on him to prove that he can do the job. He then gets a phone call informing him that his sister has died and named him as her daughter’s guardian. His niece is a surly, angry little girl who really just needs love and assurance. Add in Paloma, a Practically Perfect Nanny, who is also having issues because her former charges have grown up and left the nest, making her feel like she can’t go through caring for any more children. But, she needs another job to help pay for her mother’s care in a memory facility. All three characters (at different points in the story) made me sigh at their foolishness, swoon, want to grab them into a hug, or sit them down to give them a stern talking to.

This was a really good book. I didn’t know what to expect since I haven’t read anything from the author but I really enjoyed it. The story could be very true and the book went through a lot of different emotions. You got a great feeling of what each of the characters were like. The nanny out of a job, a hockey coach just learning that he has a niece he never knew about and was now her guardian. How lucky was Paloma getting the chance to be a nanny for a gorgeous man, Silias, and his niece Beatrix. It was tough in the beginning with all of them trying to get through the changes they all have to make. But slowly, they all came to love one another and make a great family. I will certainly read this author again!!… (más)
