REVIEW: A bit predictable but thoroughly enjoyable. Two people betrayed by former lovers try for “friends with benefits”. But that doesn’t really work for either Susan or Jeff. An unplanned pregnancy twists the plot even more. The older woman angle is handled well. Both characters were lovable but their fights seemed shallow. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.

DESCRIPTION, NOT REVIEW: Sometimes happily ever after comes when you least expect it.
After Susan’s fiancé dumps her in the worst possible way, she turns to Jeff, a self-proclaimed playboy, who’s almost ten years younger than her. Despite the way he makes her feel, Susan knows better than to let things between them go further than a few passionate nights together.

Then Susan finds out she’s pregnant, and she’s not sure if the baby is Jeff’s or her ex-fiancé’s. She’s certain neither will want anything to do with the child she’s carrying—until Jeff surprises her, claiming he’s not the player she’s convinced he is. But with a baby on the way, everything’s changed. What if it isn’t Jeff’s? And if it is, will he want to commit to her and a baby when they’ve barely begun to know each other?

Actual rating: 1.5... or maybe 2?

Notes:
*You would take advantage of what he feels for you so you could get what you want?
*Somehow, the idea of a man trying to kill a girl because she was borne of your wife with a man other than you is quite... smh

This is one of the most emotional love stories I’ve read until now! In my opinion it’s very well written and has well developed characters. The action is very nicely built and there is no rush to the ending.

It focuses on the relationship between Jess and Justin, two burdened souls, each with a past that has left them scarred. They try to move past the beautiful friendship that formed over the summer but they don’t have enough faith in the other’s feelings and they lack as well the self-confidence. Both characters have a pain they carry: Jess was abandoned by her parents at age 14 with an idea that she will never be good enough for someone. Justin’s military career ended suddenly and he came home with not only a broken mind, but as well a broken future.

They will have to fight for their love against their own demons and many outside obstacles. If they are strong enough to overcome them, you will find out by reading the book. I can tell you that it is a life lesson for all of us. Even though we may not face the same barriers, the story teaches us all how to have faith in our strengths. I recommend it will all my heart!
