I agree with the previous review by jmallen, but I would add that adults also change. A boy realizes that someone is missing in his life and that someone is his old self. He does not discard the artifacts of his old life, but boxes them up so they are accessible if he ever needs them and moves on to more mature, but related interests. ( )

This book is about a boy who realizes someone at his home is missing. He later realizes the person missing is his "old" self because he is now someone new. His interests have changed, he no longer likes the childish things he did before and now wants to read and find out information about shells.

This book would be good to read to children because they can probably relate to it at a certain age. Many children go through a stage where they begin to change and this book would help them know that they are not alone.
