Realizing this is one man's view, it's still interesting to read about a Democrat who made it all the way to governor of Hawaii. He certainly portrays himself as an independent thinker and I definitely remember he was not well loved by the Democratic party when he was governor. Highly recommend for anyone who has lived in Hawaii. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
From a hardscrabble childhood in Kalihi to his two terms at Washington Place, Ben Cayetano's story offers a riveting look at Hawai'i yesterday and today: ethnic voting, Hawaiian sovereignty, Bishop Estate, the drama of 9-11 and the back-room maneuverings of politicians and business leaders. Here is a rare glimpse behind the scenes, an unflinching memoir with no punches pulled, told with warmth and candor in his own words. Book jacket. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
