My generation had Drew Barrymore's Never Been Kissed to reminisce about high schol, but Cameron Crowe was the original reporter to re-tread the best (or worst) times of our lives. Even though times have changed we still see the classic set of characters in every high school, though they are far more complicated than the stereo-types of "jock" or "school slut" will have us believe. Crowe's depiction of this morely crew of teens is shockingly real, balancing the laughs and the tears, so I am sure that everyone will be able to find something familiar. A perfect summer read. ( ) I read this because it was on a list of the "top 100 in-demand out of print books"; frankly, I was shocked to find that Fast Times was indeed a book prior to being made into the 80's classic teen comedy. When I first cracked it open, it was like reading the script from the film, except the book is slightly more raunchy, slightly more explicit than the film. But not by much. Why read the book then? For no other reason, then to get even more up close and personal with the delightful Brad Hamilton (ahh, Judge Reinhold) who we get to see a little deeper into than in the film. All in all a quick read but so fun and SO 1980's. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Welcome to lunch court. That's Spicoli over there, trying hard to unwrap a bologna sandwich. His eyes are still red-rimmed from the three bowls of dope he smoked after his morning surf. Stacy Hamilton doesn't look any different even though she finally lost her virginity last night. Linda Barrett, Stacy's best bud, wants to hear all about it. After all, she gives lessons. And here comes Brad Hamilton, king of the lunch court and prince of the fast-food employee hierarchy. Brad's guy who takes pride in his fries. Mike Damone takes pride in the Attitude, which he developed in Philly, his hometown, where "life is cheap." And here's that wussy Mark Ratner. Girls make him sweat. He'll do more than sweat when he turns up in the yearbook class picture with something missing. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
