I came across this book by accident and initially was going to put it straight on my BM inventory. However i started reading and was completely caught in the story. It is a YA science fiction book, not usually my type, but i fell in love with the characters and the storyline. ( )

(MS Science Fiction) This book has a wonderful sinister quality to it. At many points, Thomas is in real jeopardy and the any salvation seems very remote. At the same time, it presents a thought-provoking look at the value of free will. Is it worth giving up free will to have world peace and harmony? This book says no. The ending, however, is disappointing. For most of the book the aliens seem pretty ruthless. Their willingness to give up and let the Wisdom family live happily ever after is hard to believe. ( )
