( ) This novel is based on the two part episode of the same name. It's the start of the explanation of the Dominion, the Founders and Odo amongst other things. The story is that Sisko has convinced Starfleet to give him a new ship, a new warship class, The Defiants. Its first mission is to go to the Gamma Quadrant and put the scare a little bit into the Dominion and also test out the cloak that it uses (that the Romulans have 'loaned' to Starfleet). Of course, the mission doesn't go how it should. But if it went perfectly then there'd be no TV show or books. It was one of the most relevant storylines that the Star Trek shows ever made and the book lives up to that as well. It's a well written book, there are only a few mistakes here and there in regards to characterization, but for the most part it is a very good novelization of a great episode. (Sorta made me want to watch the whole episode again, which is a good sign for a book). A solid four stars and most Star Trek novels, even the better ones don't usually approach four stars. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
