Marla Cahill is married to Alex, a wealthy business man and they live in San Francisco in a gated mansion with his mother and their daughter. One night, Marla is in a horrific car accident where the passenger in the car she was driving dies and Marla loses her memory. When she wakes up in the hospital, she immediately feels that something isn't right, even though she has no memory of the people around her. After she's released from the hospital, she begins to feel as if she is going crazy and is adamant that she woke up one night with a man standing in her room. She confides in her brother-in-law and they start investigating the accident because he feels something isn't right. ( )

This was an awesome book - a real mystery - kept me up reading late into the night for almost two weeks. Kept me guessing right to the end. Definitely a five star read! ( )

This book would have been improved by removing the extraneous sex scenes which added nothing to the story. I am not a prude by any means and scenes of intimacy can be used to advance the character development. However, the scenes in this book could have been cut and the book would have been much improved. I am not a fan of "romance" novels, I got over that phase when I was in my 20s. I did like the story and time spent on the sex scenes could have been better used to tighten up the storyline. I doubt I will ever read another one of this author's pieces. ( )

This was a decent read about a woman who, after being in a horrible car accident, wakes up from a coma with no memory. She learns that her name is Marla Cahill and she is married to a handsome, wealthy man, has two children, and lives in a huge mansion overlooking San Francisco Bay. The problem is, she knows in her heart that none of this is true. And she also knows she is somehow in great danger.

The premise was intriguing but the plot moved very slowly, which wasn't helped by the dopey and unnecessary Harlequin romance sub-plot. It seems to be a trend in the books I read lately where the author is trying to be all things to all people. I believe you need to pick a genre and stick with it, for example: hard-boiled mystery; or sappy soft-porn romance. But not both. ( )

Marla Cahill survived a deadly car crash and plastic surgery restored her looks, however, her memories are gone, even the face in the mirror is a stranger. When nothing around her, the house she is living in nor family members, triggers her memory she starts to think she is not who everyone says she is (I thought that too). As she tried to figure out who she is, she realized she is in danger, being stalked by a murderer.

Read this in a day, mainly because I am behind in my reading and if I don’t read a book a day I will never catch up. However it was easy to read in a day. It is a fast paced book with a twisted story line, when I read that Marla didn’t recognize her family and had no familiarity with them, I thought I knew what was going on, from a story line in another book I read, but I was wrong. It was a pleasant surprise and it captured my attention, the plot twisted and turned into a believable ending. It did not seem like something just thrown together to make all the pieces fit. ( )
