The author had a great idea with this book but it doesn’t quite meet the mark. It’s very short. Each “thought” is about 1-2 pages long. I had expected some “doggy wisdom” but it’s more like a kid telling you what they did in school today. A positive though is the adorable pucs by of the pup narriating. ( )

I live with dogs and dogs live with me. Dogs are not human. They are not surrogates for humans. They are dogs and most every word and attitude in this mercifully short work denies that fact. The owner dresses her dog in stupid costumes. She wants him to turn into a little boy. She imagine she sees the world through his eyes. She even forces him to become a vegetarian and has him praise her for it. Sentimental, anthropomorphic rubbish/ ( )

A puppy being owned by a human, in their own POV. It’s a great way to portray how the dog feels and acts the way they do in their own point of view rather than the owner’s. ( )

This was such a cute quick read. This book nailed every part of owning a dog but as told from the dogs POV. Very funny at times and always enjoyable. The artwork throughout the book is stunning and such a precious touch.
