This is a heartbreaking story about loss. Wonderfully written but difficult to read without having tearful moments. ( )Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. Absolutely heart breaking, a one sitting read complete. It felt like I was living the footsteps alongside the family and my gut dropped. My heart goes out to you all and I would highly recommend this amazing book to all! Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. I think it’s tragic that when a child is put up for adoption that the biological parents can change their minds and take back the child. No wonder so many people don’t adopt.
Heartbreaking. I did wonder why they never tried surgency or donor eggs but it’s not for me the reader to go deeper into their personal lives. I wasn’t a fan of the book bouncing around time-wise. I was surprised there was no updated ending. Did they try again? Will they try again? Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. I love reading memoirs, and this one did not disappoint. As a soon to be new mother, and someone who has experienced loss of a baby, this story really hit home.Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. a heartbreaking story, but also a kind of hard to follow story as it was a very short memoir and the author jumped from different perspectives a lot. although it was short, it made an impact on me. wanting to create a life so badly and then having it all fall apart.. i cannot imagine what that feels like, but i'm glad i got to read about Majoya's story. it will stick with me sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
After nearly ten years of failed fertility trials, Rebecca and Sallyann's life irrevocably changes in just ten days, and not the way they expected. Focused for so long on bringing a baby into the world together, this lesbian couple was finally able to hold the newborn they were to adopt in their arms-but it doesn't last. They take the baby home from the hospital and welcome him into their family, when outside forces intervene and the birth mother reclaims the baby, sending the couple into a tailspin. The loss of a baby is quite possibly the worst scenario imaginable. Rebecca and Sallyann want the reader to know, you can survive it and, as a couple, grow stronger together. From their distinct voices, this dual memoir explores how feelings of self-doubt, longing, and heartache sneak into the layers of life, informing the decisions you make and the place where you belong.
