This was largely enjoyable. A quick, entertaining read, easy to consume. I appreciated the introductory note by the publishers where the intent behind the simplicity of style was made clear.Otherwise the tabloid press style would have put me off a bit. The reason I gave True Crime Storytime only 3*** is that the cases – though chilling - didn't stick in my mind for very long... Ever since I started trying to be a good Christian woman and have gotten engrossed in reading/reviewing non-fiction Christian books [read my reviews]; previously, I had always enjoyed sitting down and reading a good True Crime book, and I still do. [I happen to be a TOP CONTRIBUTOR of Amazon for this genre.]Why would an individual like myself ever want to read such a shockingly disturbing book like this? The answer is simple; I'm now more fascinated than ever by how any person, such as the 12 subjects of this book, could ever become such a heinous, cruel, vile, murderous individuals capable of going against almost every tenet of the Lord. Like all of the True Crime authors I've read and have written reviews for in the past, M. Moore possesses a style individualistic style of writing that engages the readers. The author skillfully takes them as they delve into the stories that drove these individuals into committing their unsettling, hideous, upsetting acts of depravity against another person. The author, writing this book, decided to concentrate on a specific period of our history, the Roaring 20s. However, unlike the gangster-style murders of the likes of the notorious Al Capone, these individuals had been far more nefarious. Through the pages of this book, Moore presents the sociological and psychological histories of the 12 perpetrators that had been the motivating force behind the commission of their murderous sinister crimes. As is usually the case with these murders of this type, we find that some of these cases have gotten solved, and others still remain unsolved. Regardless of the end result, being the Christian woman I am, yet being an aficionado of the genre of True Crime books, I found this book to be a very captivating, engaging, page-turning reading experience, which is why I've given the author and this book 5 STARS. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
