Instead, I got prepubescent drivel with superheroes wandering around dystopian NYC. I was willing to play along at first and got halfway through the book when it started to seriously degrade into a corny, predictable plot where I could literally script the next scene; that's how much originality it lacked. Full of uninspired tropes and rehashed scenarios, this book was one big disappointment. "The Shadow" by James Patterson is different than the majority of his novels. This is a great YA read, as it follows the lives of "the Shadow" aka Lamont Cranston, his girlfriend, Margo Lane, his archnemesis, Shiwan Khan, and Maddy Gomes a teenager that inherits "the Shadows" body a century and a half after his death in the 1930's. Lamont is awakened in a world that is both familiar and unfamiliar to him. The plot follows the ups and downs of the various characters as they navigate the changes in their society while trying to determine Khan's next move. Will they be able to stop Khan before it's too late? Definitely a worthwhile read! I'm looking forward to reading the next in this series, "The Circle of Death: A Shadow Thriller". sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
