I don't have kids, but this would definitely be a great resource for both parents and children. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. My 8-year old son enjoyed this story. The concept of ‘values’ can be hard to explain to young kids, but this book approached the topic in a very accessible way. We had a good discussion afterwards about what his values are. Appreciated this read. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. My 7 and 9-year-old enjoyed reading this book. The illustrations were very vibrant. We loved how we were able to use this book to reflect on our values. We also used the Values Glossary to discuss our values. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. A well illustrated heavy handed book that can be used to talk to children about values. It starts as a story but quickly morphs into an illustrated dictionary. While helpful if you need kid friendly definitions to start the discussion of different values to children, it is the child's equivalent of a classroom lecture. The list of values range from the obvious (found in all children's books, such as fairness or honesty) to dubious (fun as a value?.) Children do need things explained to them, but this book does not give them enough credit. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Katarina is a woodland fairy who loves to show children what makes them unique. Because she values fun, she dazzles children with whimsy, wonder, and "Fairy Magic!" This enchanting fairy friend guides six schoolmates on a journey of self-discovery, teaching them the importance of knowing their own values. Katarina explains how values guide their lives and help them make good decisions, including choosing their friends wisely, and deciding what activities to pursue. Values can even help them find a career they will enjoy someday! Katarina builds confidence in each child by uncovering what's most important to them. Evelyn, Ki, Emma Lucía, Daphne, Jax, and Jacob learn and celebrate values like independence, empathy, fairness, honesty, and generosity. Children will be delighted to join these friends in discovering their own values, and work with a parent, teacher, or caregiver to build their ValuesStory(TM) to increase their self-awareness and self-esteem. This book introduces children to values and does so in an interesting way, by also giving examples.
It helps them find out what their own values might be.
