This is one of the best books I have read, period. I have shared it with my pastor and others as a key insight into the changing environment for Christians in the US and how the church needs to re-evaluate how we 'do church.' Not only is this a wake-up call from someone who has been able to see and experience the 'future'--it's also a call to return to our roots as influencers in the world. I have used the ideas in this book as a filter for what our church is doing and have asked myself what I am doing and why. Jon Ritner is rightfully shaking us up to think about how the church should interact with the world today and challenging us to get out of our 'holy huddle' mindset and our 'build it and they will come' approach to reaching our neighbors. Everyone involved in ministry--and really everyone who seeks to follow Jesus in the contemporary west should read this book. Highest recommendation ( )
