Given that I disagree with Russell philosophically and find his personal life irresponsible, I must admit I still find these stories delightful. He and J.B.S. Haldane might be called the anti-Inklings -- British fantasy writers of the same period, with a similar whimsical humor, but very different philosophical outlooks from the Inklings. Far more agreeable than Pullman the self-proclaimed anti-Inkling. (
