From #1 New York Times bestselling author Meg Cabot comes the first story in her Little Bridge Island seriesâ??which also includes an excerpt from her forthcoming new full-length novel No Judgments!

Looking for a tropical escape?

Welcome to Little Bridge, one of the smallestâ??and most beautifulâ??islands in the Florida Keys, home to sandy white beaches, salt-rimmed margaritas, stunning sunsets, and some of the quirkiestâ??but also kindest and most resourcefulâ??people you'll ever meet.

Physical trainer Roberta "Rob" James moved to Little Bridge hoping she'd found paradise, but things haven't turned out quite as she'd hoped. The closest Rob has come to her "happily ever after" is happy hour at the Mermaid Café with her buddy Bree, the bartender slash waitress who's got romance problems of her own.

But Rob's situation suddenly changes when sheriff's deputy Ryan Martinez accidentally enrolls in her bridal boot camp class. Turning mush into metal in time for the big day is Rob's passion (because even the happiest bride could use a little toning).

But what happens when a guy who's all mush meets a girl who's all metal?

They discover they have a lot to learn . . . about each other, themselves, and the island paradise they've come t… (más)

Meg Cabot, why.

This was a super unnecessary marketing technique. There's nothing here--a little bit about how rainbows don't actually have ends, and then a lot of fluff. (And a sex scene that felt like half the book.) I think Cabot excels in having us get to know her characters, but this didn't give enough space to do that. ( )

Prelude to new series, "Little Bridge Island." ( )

Physical trainer, Roberta "Rob" Jones is surprised when Ryan Martinez, a very ripped member of the local Sherriffs, shows up in her Wednesday night Bridal Boot Camp class. What she doesn't expect is to find such a charming man beneath the surface of all those muscles.

There's bits of Meg Cabot's writing skills on display in this novella as there's an excellent meet-cute and spots of excellent humour. But in only four chapters, the relationship between Rob and Ryan feels fantastically rushed and I couldn't let myself believe that a woman with as much baggage as Rob would really jump into bed with Ryan as quickly as she did in this novella. That said, I enjoyed the brief bits of world set up in this novella and I look forward to exploring it more in the full novel set in the same location that's set for release this fall. Really only worth picking up if you're a Meg Cabot completist. ( )

Little Bridge Island, Book .5

I Picked Up This Book Because: I’m a fan of the author

The Characters:

Roberta “Rob" James:
Ryan Martinez:
Chrissy

The Story:

This book seems like a cute start to a new series. I am looking forward to finding out more about Rob and Ryan. In this short time we see them meet and try/fail to resist their attraction to one another. They both have some things in their past that are talked about but not fleshed out and I’d love to learn more.

The Random Thoughts:
