A great read. The characters are so realistic and funny, just a joy of a book. And having an avid interest in Egyptology was also an asset for me. Would love to read more. ( )

I received an Mobi.file from the book’s publisher through a giveaway they had on LibraryThing, and the following is my honest opinion.

My inner-child adored reading this captivating, action-driven story of Tess, who during her class trip to a museum accidentally wakes a mummy, Seth, an Egyptian prince who’s been cursed and imprisoned inside his tomb for the past 2,000 years.

Seth is about Tess age and now that he’s come back to live and is free, and being he desires to live the life he used to before the spirit controlling Egyptian magician gained his perpetual youthful appearance for having turned Seth into the mummy he is today. Not knowing what to do, Seth decides to follow Tess home; bring with him the bad luck ancient mummies like him have always brought with them, consider King Tut as a prime example.

Despite having malevolent lifeforces chasing Seth and her, who are determined to forever doom their existence, they’re determined to locate the now 2,000-year-old individual responsible for Seth’s being a mummy, an individual who by coincidence had been at the museum when Tess had unintentionally freed him.

Luckily, after locating their quarry and being attacked by all the spirits he controls, the story’s two protagonists, Tess and Seth, are joined by her parents, her soccer teammates from the Wolverines, and others as their final battle ensues. Will everyone triumph over the necromancer who’s confronting them? And what will happen to Seth, if they’re successful in defeating the necromancer, and he’s now transformed back to being alive and still a child, the same age as Tess?
Ms. Russell’s writing is extremely vivid and my inner-child had no problem stepping in Tess’s shoes, visualizing and sensing everything she’s going through; which is why my inner-child and I are giving this author the 5 STARS she’s getting. ( )
