Simple, doesn't really make sense to me, a getting ready for bed book. ( )

Rabbit Pie is a picture book wrote by Penny Ives. The story is in a recipe setting. The recipe is about bedtime. The first part is to gather the ingredients. Then mama must find six small rabbits. Give the rabbits a bath and dress them. Mama rabbit reads them a book and tucks them in. At last in the morning serve sweet rabbit pie.

I thought the book was cutie. The pictures are amazing. The way the book is set up is different than I’m use to. This is not one of my favorites by the style is different and I like that.

This book would be great for a read-aloud. There are not very many words on the pages. This book would also be great for shared reading. There are many different actives I could do with this book. One active would be to introduce how a recipe is set up to the students. The class could make up their own recipes. A first grade class could read along with the book. ( )
