Fiction. Romance. HTML:This irresistible classic novel from Debbie Macomber puts a modern spin on an old-fashioned way of finding "the one."

After Caroline Myers gets her heart broken, her beloved great-aunts send her on a spur-of-the-moment northern adventure, equipped with little more than a batch of their special spiked tea. But soon after hopping a plane to Gold River, Alaska, a still loopy Caroline takes part in an odd ceremony that ends with a kiss from her personal tour guide. The next thing she knows, she wakes up with a ring on her finger.

Paul Trevor has always wanted a family, but his long work hours and remote location make dating impossible, so he takes an unconventional first step: sending away for a wife. He falls hard for Caroline's photograph and letter, but after the wedding, it's clear they've both been duped by his new bride's well-meaning aunts. Caroline's afraid this trip has been a mistake. Now Paul just needs to convince her it's the best mistake she'll ever make.

A quick fun read. Fairly unrealistic but not too out there to impair my enjoyment. Their feelings developed very fast, especially on the part of the hero who was in love within 2 or 3 days. I liked the stuff about the native people of Alaska. It was a little glimpse into what their lives were like. This book would really have been much better with about 100 more pages. ( )

Liked the idea of aunts coming up with a solution to Caroline’s depressed state following a distant relative doing the same thing. Only wish they had told her via final note in her suitcase what she was getting into. It wouldn’t stop her getting drunk by their “tea” and going through with marriage but at least there would have been more caring. Funny when Caroline escapes into a hunter’s camp. How could they be together and he never discloses his past. Knew she would fall for him but to take it so far with her distrust issues even after his friend gives her the background story. ( )

It starts off really good, good premise, she's an unsuspecting mail order bride. She thinks she's going on holiday.
But I disliked the hero, he is unyielding and even at the end he should have grovelled more. ( )

Mail-Order Bride is a re-release of a Debbie Macomber book now on e-book, and I am pleased that Random House LLC republished it again, so I had the chance to read it. A cute love story of two people falling in love with the help of Caroline's great aunts set in Alaska. I love all of Debbie Macomber books, and this one would make a great Hallmark movie. ( )

In Macomber’s romance novel, Caroline Myers has been dumped by her fiancé. Her well-meaning aunts plan a trip to the Alaskan wilderness supposedly to help Caroline cheer up and move on. But to Caroline’s surprise, her family targeted Alaska after reading an article stating that Paul Trevor, of Alaska, was looking for a bride. Caroline might have been upset over the scheme, but when she looks Paul in the eyes the surrounding snow melted.

With the stunning background of Alaska, Macomber has once again painted a winning tale. ( )
