Yes, this book is a typical teen supernatural romance, but it is still unique and very well done. All the characters are interesting and given proper backstories/ depth. The plot moves quickly, and the alternating points of view add another layer to the story. The romance was fun and cute. Overall, an enjoyable read! ( )

Alternating between Rynne and Tasia’s point of views, Hearts Lie, follows Tasia, a teenage girl whose gifts allow her to attract spirits, and Rynne, her guardian angel. After she returns one Halloween night to find her parents dead at the hands of Arsen, she vows to make him pay for what he did, leading her down a predestined path. Slow to begin with but interesting nonetheless, I felt the story was a great start to a new series. For this genre, I felt that it was well written and better than similar paranormal YA romance featuring angels. I felt that the story could have been a bit shorter, as many details are not necessary to figure out whats happening. Overall, I’d recommend this book to fans of YA paranormal romance. It was a good story and I look forward to reading the second novel in the series, The Pull of Destiny (Undying Love #2).

This story follows Tasia Wren a normal sixteen year old girl who happens to be able to see and communicate with ghosts, her crush Rynne an angel sent to protect her, and Arsen a demon that killed Tasia's parents but he is as drawn to her as she is to him. This book alternates between Tasia's, Rynne's, and Arsen's perspectives. I had a hard time getting into this book initially because it was slow to be because it was setting up this world. However after the first third I found myself sucked in and I did not want it to end. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.

I would suggest this book for anymore who likes young adult books, the supernatural, and PG romance. ( )

When I received this book I thought, "This is going to be a typical paranormal teen romance."

Well I was right and wrong, the predictable teen romance is there (but adorable and I loved it), but the same story line I have come to read in this genre, was lost. It was refreshing to be able to read something that seems familiar but then throws you for a loop. I felt as if this had many similarities to some of my favorite books from this genre with just enough new material tied in.

The author did a great job developing these characters as well.
All the characters have more of a realistic vibe to them. Their reactions are more relatable and unexpected than your typical heroin or villain.

I also love the love/hate relationship I have for the villain of the book, Arsen. When an author can make me feel what I normally don't feel for a character role, I am impressed.

Overall, it is a quick read simply because you want to know the great mystery behind the main character and the villain of the book. I will definitely purchase the rest of the series. ( )

Kestra has brought me into a world where angels and demons literally walk on Terra along with humans. The scenes are beautifully crafted that I think I can also feel the light and darkness the lovely characters are experiencing. It is a good escape ( )
