Another Malcolm and Ives romance - this one is Will, the dog whisperer (actually, dog listener) and an earl's daughter with super-sensitive hearing. Interesting puzzles, reasonably solid characters. A little too explicit, but only a little; a bit of "I am not worthy" but it's not allowed to become too tiresome. Good, as these books go. I've liked Will for several books now, nice to see him happy. ( ) This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone very easily. This is Will's story and he's a bastard son who can talk to and hear dogs. He is much more comfortable outside and with animals than he is with royalty and women. Once he meets Lady Aurelia and spends a little bit of time with her though all bets are off. The pairings of this family are very interesting since they all have some kind of gift or other. It's fascinating seeing how Ms. Rice weaves them together and makes you fall in love with all of them. Another wonderful addition to the series! I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. No Perfect Magic was provided to me at no cost in return for my review.Upon finishing the first few pages, I was hesitant to continue. My personal literary preferences run to the conservative. With the "bastard" son of an aristocrat and his "bitch" dog, I wondered what kind of read I was getting into. Resolving to complete the book (and review), I read on. The use of words unfamiliar to me continued to be an obstacle. Although easily overcome with the dictionary feature of my phone, it is quite bothersome. Many times the chosen word could have been replaced with something much more familiar, while others were quite necessary as there is no modern equivalent. With that being said, the story’s pace was swift enough, and the characters interesting enough, to keep me reading. I dislike terribly reading a series out of order, but in this case, I did not feel like I was missing anything. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. I absolutely love the unexpected magic series. I did struggle with the additional characters that it seems we should already know. My solution was to purchase the other books and read them as well. The whole extended family are all great characters and a real joy to read about. In each story the characters have special gifts that help them. I wish we could all have these gifts, I would enjoy being able to speak to animals. I recommend the whole series. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. This was a fun light read. It was the type of story where you expect there to be a prince charming in the end. The story was sweet and tender with thee added touch of magic. Some nights I don't want to read something that keeps me on the edged of my seat. This fills the category of soft adventure that leaves you happy about the story when you lay the book down at night, but still excited to start reading again the next day. I recomment this book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML: Will Ives, the bastard son of the late marquess, is as strong, handsome, and smart as his brothers, but he has no interest in society or book learning. His unique gift for training highly-prized rescue dogs is all he needs. His peace is shattered the day the beautiful but eccentric Lady Aurelia demands his help in finding a child no one knows is missing. The daughter of a duke, Lady Aurelia has everything: wealth, beauty, and a family known for their good works. Unfortunately, afflicted with hyper-acute hearing, she spends most of her time cringing in her room. She wants nothing more than to please her father and make a good match, but how can she when every dinner, tea, and ball is pure torture? When a child only she can hear cries for help, Aurelia must find a way to turn her affliction into the gift it is, before it's too late. Will, in turn, must overcome his reluctance to work with a lady who makes him feel inadequate in all ways but one. With the reluctant aid of Will and his dogs, the pair sets out on an unusual journey that will surely lead to heartbreakâ??or a love against all reason.
