Sergeant Eric Parker broke up with his fiancée, Bree Collingswood, thinking it would be safer for her to be away from him because of a case he was working on. But when the killer in his case has an eye on her, Eric now thinks it's safer to keep her close. Since he regretted breaking up with her and wanted her back, he was happy to have her in his life again, just not for that reason.

Elle Rush is a very illustrative writer making it easy to picture the events taking place. The book is a great read and definitely captures the reader in the story line, but that wouldn't work if she didn't have good characters. Eric and Bree are very likeable, strong individuals. Bree's life had been pretty bad but she had made a good life for herself. How sad that she got dumped by Eric without understanding why. Eric was a hardworking, handsome, strong willed man who tried to do the right thing but didn't always pull that off.

I liked that the plot was so different than any other romantic suspense I've ever read.There are many suspenseful twists in this book like a serial killer, motorcycle gang and a crooked cop. I like the Canadian setting and the description of Winnipeg weather at the beginning of the book. That is hysterical!

If you're looking for a romantic suspense that's not run-of-the-mill, I recommend Pursuit.
