I went through a chick lit phase about ten years ago, back when it was big on the shelves. I ended up only reading it for a short amount of time, because I found that I altogether loathed the characters and couldn't relate to them at all. This book is the complete and utter opposite, with a heroine who is thoroughly engaging and believable in both her flaws and strengths. The plot isn't anywhere near complex, and the backgrounds of the characters are sketched out in broad, simple strokes, but that only makes the tale more entertaining. What's more, the real focus of the narrative is interaction between the characters, with the crime merely serving as a vehicle for people interacting. The resolution of said crime, too, is hilarious, in a large part of the simplicity that characterizes the rest of the story. In summation: the ultimate beach or bathtub book, complete with action, suspense, and happy endings for everyone you like. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
