The second book in the series and stronger than the first, it also takes place in San Francisco ( ) Esta reseña ha sido escrita para Sorteo de miembros LibraryThing. I think I found this free on Kindle and downloaded it, thinking it was the first in the series. It’s actually second, and I think I would have gotten just that much more out of it if I’d read the first.Amazon says: “San Francisco’s favorite con artist turned private investigator Jack McCoul is trying to go legit by launching a high tech startup business. But then his past comes roaring back.” I don’t know why I was surprised that this was well-edited and had a decent mystery, without a too-hard edge. The humour, I think, helped to soften it. 3½ stars Esta reseña ha sido escrita para Sorteo de miembros LibraryThing. The subplots are all interesting and several of the characters very likable. The "bad guys" are as they should be. Things get tidied up quite nicely though I expect Bobby will return to mess up Jack and Katie's life :*) I haven't read the previous Jack McCoul story but this one stood by itself perfectly well. Recommended. Esta reseña ha sido escrita para Sorteo de miembros LibraryThing. An enjoyable and entertaining read. I would read other books by the author. There was plenty of action and humor to keep me turning the pages. Esta reseña ha sido escrita para Sorteo de miembros LibraryThing. I received a copy of this book through Library Thing's Member Giveaway in exchange for a review.I'm not sure if the author's intention was to present the characters as caricatures but I found them to be so and although somewhat amusing, there were moments of annoyance with this as well. A few twists and turns to the plot but a fairly predictable ending. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
