Viv does-over her life. Viv's contented life with her significant other crashes as he abandons her unexpectedly. Couch-surfing with a friend -- for months -- turns out to not be the answer. As her friends line up possibilities, Viv steps in to help her father renovate houses for quick resale -- and learns about craftsmanship, character, loyalty, and honor from her Dad's handy man.

I enjoyed this romance, even though I found the transitions often jerky and abrupt.

I got this epub file electronic book as a LibraryThing giveaway, in return for a review.

When Viv expects her current boyfriend of six years is going to propose, he instead gives her earrings and breaks off with her. Devastated, Viv’s two friends Julie and Sabrina decide to help her find the right man. However, Viv soon realizes this method is not working so decides to find her own man her own way. This book details the ways Viv goes about doing this. As she looks for the “right” man, Viv discovers a lot about herself and her divorced parents, some of which she likes and/or can easily accept and some of which she finds abhorrent, as well as about her two friends. This is a really good book. It drew me in from the beginning and kept my interest the entire time. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Viv, her friends and parents struggle through this difficult time for Viv, each learning things about her, themselves and each other. I had figured out who Viv’s right man would be the very first time she and he encountered each other, and enjoyed how they slowly and carefully got to know each other, to recognize they had feelings for each other and to finally settle into a meaningful relationship. The setting for the story was Toronto, which was good because most of us can easily understand and relate to this Canadian city, which is not all that much different from the cities and towns where we live ourselves. I enjoyed watching the chemistry between Viv and her eventual man develop slowly across the pages and events. This is a really good book. I think anyone who enjoys a good romance that is not quite a run-of–the-mill romance we find everywhere will enjoy the book. Try it. I am sure, like, me, you will enjoy it. I received this from Library Thing to read and review. ( )
