Wicked Sinners is not the formulaic dark, brooking supernatural guy meets hapless, social misfit girl that I was expecting. While Parkerson’s plot twists and turns challenged my romantic sensibilities, she weaves them together with talent. The result: a book that I devoured, breathlessly arriving at the end.

At its most basic the plot is guy meets girl, true love ensues. However, unexpectedly tragic events turn this formula on its head. While it took me a while to resign myself to this, Parkerson’s engaging characters convinced me that this is the way it should be.

Parkerson weaves her tale with a surprisingly small cast of characters. I adored Adriana, whose impulsiveness and devotedness were enchanting. The description of Julien and Jacques had my heart racing, yet the differences between their personalities are striking. I must confess that it took me a while to warm to the character of Alain and even at the end I was not entirely convinced. But I am looking forward to Parkerson’s next instalments to convince me!

I thoroughly enjoyed Parkerson’s style. It was easy to read and engaging. Her flare for description won me over early. Even though I had not read the first book in the series, I did not find this an issue as ‘Wicked Sinners’ stands very well on its own.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed “Wicked Sinners”. I found it difficult to put down and I look forward to the next instalment. ( )

“A Wickedly Fantastic read!”

Charity Parkerson has done it again! “Wicked Sinners” is smashing follow-up to its predecessor, “The Society of Sinners.” With new characters, new challenges, and new magic, I was immediately captivated as I was pulled into the mystifying world that the author has so flawlessly created.
What I found most appealing was how this time the story was centered mostly around a single family of characters and the hardships that only a real family can put one another through. The emotional and physical aspects were off the chart as each person had to deal with hard decisions in concern to life, love, and long-term happiness.
And then the ultimate surprise. The return of some very familiar characters who had no choice but to bring their special talents to the scene, pushing the story to an amazing, yet necessarily climactic ending. Overall, I could not pull myself away from this book as the truth of their secret existence continued to unfold before my eyes. And dare I may say, there is still more to come. ( )

I thought this book read a bit to quick for me, four or five hours and it was devoured and known, but that assessment is two-fold. Firstly, the story was quick and easy to follow which is a pitfall and an advantage into itself. Being easy to follow and a quick read will allow many to enjoy, but also it doesn't challenge the reader and without labor joy is base. Secondly, it seemed like I didn't want a break from reading the book. The book's flow was very well put together and the plot didn't become absurd even with the unreality of the things being thrust upon you sentence after sentence. My only thought, or correction if you will, ***Spoiler Alert*** was how Adrianna left the house in France to be found back in her own house on the island in Chapter 7 leading to Chapter 8. The story made it seem as if no time had passed as if she had gained the ability to teleport away which we find later is not the case. ***End Spoiler*** Otherwise a very good read and will recommend to others. 4 out of 5 stars! I really enjoyed this book. I think I found a new author. This book has everything you need in a supernatural thriller. You have magic, vampires, werewolves, gods and love that spans centuries. I hope to read more from Charity Parkerson very soon. ( )
