When a London scientist learns that his long-time mistress is now free to marry him, he is less than enthusiastic, but his horror grows when he realizes she is a monster in disguise and that she has evil designs upon his teenage daughter. This is a very-well crafted suspense novel with a (slightly) surprising ending. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
It was one thing having Rita as a part-time, twice-a-week mistress. Having her around full time was definitely something else. True, Adrian had been begging her for years to leave her dull, rich husband, and move in with him. Now she had done it, and Adrian had no time for his scientific work, and then there was his 10 year-old daughter, Amelia. Rita seemed to be jealous of her. Did jealousy have anything to do with Rita's accident? No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

Author Fremlin is masterful (and funny) in her accurate portrayal of how people really think and feel, as opposed to how they behave. But overall this book is pretty creepy. ( )
