Malice is the first book I've read by Griffin Hayes and I will say I am glad I came across it. The cover is what first attracted me to the book, I am a fan of paranormal books and thought I better read the description on this one to see if it was something I should read.

Griffin's writing is fantastic, it is one of those book that kept my attention so I couldn't put the book down till I reached the end.

It is a murder, mystery, and a bit of romance, but it is a murder/sucide,creepy, witches, paranormal thriller type of book.

There are many dark secrets, dark shawdows, someone is murdering people and there is a connection to the past. Can Lysander figure this all out without getting killed.

If you like y/a paranormal books this is a must.

How does one tie the burning of a witch in 1600s Massachusetts Bay Colony to ordinary people living their daily lives today? That is what Hayes does in his book MALICE. The spirits from that long ago tragedy still haunt a present day town where the witch was put to death. The one evil spirit is still struggling to bring about it's own justice for the wrongs committed long ago.

The story is riveting and very interesting. A little more character development would be interesting and a little more cleaning up in the ending. What do the people think of the serial killer that was living among them all of those years? What of the deputy's family and friends? I just think it needs to be wrapped up in a little neater package.

Very good job and well worth the time to read. ( )

The story had some potential and started out very creepy. The gruesome factor also was maintained relatively easily. My issues with the story lie in the poorly tied up and implausible (based on the criteria the story provided) ending. I think this is one story that would have done much better with a well written epilogue. There were also some things that just didn't make sense or follow the flow. However, I did like the characters even if they weren't entirely sensible.

I did enjoy the read- and it was short. So its recommended, just not highly. ( )

This book had all the aspects of a good suspense novel. We had witches, curses and murder with ghosts. This book grabbed my attention from the beginning I had trouble putting it down until it was finished. Good and fast moving plot. This author has a real talent. ( )

Good story, keeps you engrossed and you will end up reading it in one go, as i did. Very detailed narrative and things keep moving fast throughout the book, though one or two places it would have helped to have breaks in the same as i kind of lost track of what was happening. Overall a well written book with an interesting story-line. Would recommend it to others too.(I received this book as part of Library thing giveaway) ( )
