James Grady had me hooked with his first sentence . . . expertly crafted. Although it slows a bit midway through, and the ending is somewhat predictable, Grady manages to keep you with him to the final sentence. A must read for all who appreciate this genre. ( )

Better than average spy and crime thriller. I picked it up because I noticed the author also wrote 6 Days of the Condor. The characters are mostly typical in the beginning of the story but, as you read more, there's a bit of an extra layer, which saves the book. The story also has a lot more to say about politics and power and says it a bit better than your regular spy pulp.
