Harm Connolly's Uncle Dougal died a few months ago and Harm has inherited his pharmaceutical company, Future Inc. Uncle Dougal and his team were working on a cure for pancreatic cancer and when Dougal died they were on the verge of a breakthrough. Also, when Dougal died, data for the drug his team was working on disappeared. So, who took/stole the data? Harm comes up with an idea to gather the men from the team to all come aboard a yacht for two weeks, for a business cruise in Alaska, so Harm can get them all alone together, watch and get to know them, and ferret out who took the formula/data and if there is a thief among them.

It seemed a good idea till Harm discovered a lovely female chef onboard the yacht, who distracted him, and a possible murder occurred. Which made Harm begin to wonder if Uncle Dougal died of natural causes, or was he murdered?

This was a fun read. I always enjoy books when a bunch of people are stuck together in one place and one of them could be a murderer. I liked the chef-heroine, Cate Campbell. She was strong, gutsy, no shrinking violet, a bit of a free spirit. But she was also sweet and vulnerable at times. Her parents died in a fire when she was eight so she doesn't want to become too close or dependent on anyone. She isn't interested in a serious relationship. Cate got on well with the men on board and eased the tension sometimes with her friendly manner. I liked the part when she eagerly petted the whale that came close to the yacht. I also liked Harm. He was married twice and also wasn't interested in a serious commitment. But he can't help but be fascinated with Cate. He likes her openness and he thinks she's fearless. They both had great chemistry together. I also liked the interesting cast of suspects/characters. This was a very good, fast-paced suspense story. ( )
