Peter is on the trail of genius Gaelic bard Calum Calum, believed by the world to be dead. Troubled Elena is also drawn to the Highlands, seeking revenge on el malo, the evil one, the Scottish gunrunner who betrayed her family during the Spanish Civil War. The first chapter gripped me and I found myself reading hour after hour, completely engrossed in the story of the three characters. Each character stood on their own and gave fantastic insight to the tale. The writing reflected Peter -the poet, Henry -the romantic and Elena -the determined.
Without giving away too much this story leads you to Inverness and makes you feel the snow and the rain, and guides you through the mountains of Scotland.
Don't be put off by the cover, or the title (like I would have been) this is a great book. ( )
