Working my way through the Van Shaw books by Glen Eric Hamilton and the Alex McKnight books by Steve Hamilton. Found them at the same time. Right next to each other on the library shelf. I am enjoying both series.

Finished The Cipher by Isabella Maldonado. Really enjoyed it. Next up is Cross Her Heart by Melinda Leigh.

Just finished The Wycherly Woman, by Ross Macdonald. I'm reading this series wildly out of order, so the last book I need to read is the third book, The Way Some People Die.

I've read most of the Lew Archer books and I really don't think it matters at all in what order you get to them. Archer doesn't have any separate life or story that you have to follow aside from the current investigation. They are super fun though.

I'm continuing my read through all of Donna Andrews's Meg Langslow series. Currently getting started with Owl Be Home for Christmas.

With the big sale at Audible, I picked up all of the Maeve Kerrigan series by Jane Casey. I just finished #4 The Stranger You Know and for a little while I was hopeful that Derwent would be taken out or at least down a peg, but alas, he is just as much an asshole as ever. I guess the joy of tormenting others is just too delightful to back seat it to efficiency that comes from working well together. Poor Maeve. Still, I like them enough to continue. Twisty plots and good policing details.

>5 Bookmarque: I would agree with that assessment. The first Archer I read was The Chill, and it hooked me. If pressed I might say that one or The Far Side of the Dollar is my favourite.

Finished Cross Her Heart by Melinda Leigh. Really liked it.

Next up for me in crime is The Darkest Evening, by Ann Cleeves. Almost caught up with Vera!

Finished Framed, an offbeat French crime novel. A fun quick read. Looking forward to more titles by this author.

Now I'm going to catch up with Matthew Venn in The Heron's Cry.

Added Red Harvest, by Dashiell Hammett, to my crime reading.

It’s pretty good but it isn’t called that for nothing! What a body count!

>15 Bookmarque: I'm up to two so far!

Getting ready to throw Stolen Blessings, by Lawrence Sanders, into my reading pile. Of course I still haven't finished Red Harvest or The Heron's Cry.

This is a loose fit for the genre, but I'm really enjoying Will's War: A Novel, a courtroom drama set in Texas circa 1917. Based on a real treason trial, in which one of the defendants was actually the author's grandfather.
