I am settling my brothers estate. He was an avid Franklin Mint book collector. I am offering a great opportunity for someone to have a beautiful Collection of leather bound gilt edged books. I am looking for someone in Oklahoma that might be interested. I am willing to sell, as a lot, all 264 books at $3 each only if you are buying them all.
Thanks

>1 hathor1943: I suspect you can do much better on eBay. I am a Franklin collector and guarantee you they are worth much more sold as a lot depending on titles and condition. You could easily sell this for $3,000. Please do not give them away.

>5 A.Godhelm: thank you. i am very new to this group and new to collecting leather bind books. I was trying my luck albeit offer was too good to be true but could resist the temptation to inquire in case I am lucky.

Hi Karu79. I just stumbled upon this page/thread and do have a collection for sale.
Franklin Library's 100 Greatest Books of All Time (Full Leather)
Franklin Library 36-signed by author editions
Franklin Library 25-non signed by author editions.
If interested, I'd be willing to negotiate a price for the entire lot.

Are there two sets of GBWW
1. the great books of western world and
2. 25 anniversary limited edition of the great books of western world."
If yes what is the difference between two.

>15 treereader: They are! If I can do this, I think just about anyone can. I bought a box of 1/8" foam core boards and used a box cutter to make these. At first, I measured the text block to cut them to size. But then I realized that something like a 5 1/2" length would work for all of the books, and so then just cut varying widths and plugged them in as they fit. Not perfect, but I figure the entire text block doesn't need to be supported, as long as most of it is.
Here's a quick shot of a group of the supports:
