Laird mean to girl, his home burns,she doesn't recognize later

I am looking for a book about a Laird who is cruel to a woman then years later--after a fire in his home caused burn scars and loss of his arm--meets her again. She needs to travel into the Highlands (I think to find her brother) and he is chosen to take her. She does not recognize him and he keeps his identity a secret from her. They, of course, fall in love. There is a bit about lots of snow, and wolves.
