Meh - Evelyn Smith won't touchstone. Val Forrest in the Fifth is particularly rated by experts in the genre. I was recently given a copy of the GGB edition and warmly agrre - lovely book.

Thank you for that! I've just been and bought a few - Biddy and Quilla, a Dorothea Moore, and two that are completely new to me but looked interesting. I borrowed print copies of E. M. Channon's St Madern's books recently and enjoyed them. I also like everything I've read by Evelyn Smith. Val Forrest is justly praised, in my opinion.
