Fiction novel involving a girl, and she runs into a bunch of wolves, one of them a great mystical white wolf.
I read it about 3-4 years ago.
Intended audience - kids-preteens. I remember it being apart of a series, I think it was book 4 or 5, but I don't remember. The size of the book was a small-ish, and I remember that the cover was a purple velvet. The picture on the cover had a drawing of a white wolf I think?
Thank you!

Was their any shape-shifting?

I honestly don't remember, there might have been now that I think of it, but I read it awhile ago so my memory's a bit foggy.

What about Through Wolf's Eyes?

What do you mean by "drawing"?
To rule out (cover not right, it's blue not purple for the wolf illustration (book 2) and is only a trilogy.
Series: Viking Magic
Author: Anna Ciddor

In the Immortals series by Tamora Pierce the main character Daine is friends with a wolf pack, especially the alpha male who leads it. I'm not sure any of the books ever had a purple velvet cover though. They are aimed at teen girls, and shapeshifting/speaking to animals is a major part of the books. The second one is even called Wolf speaker
>4 fuzzi:: It does sound very like Through wolf's eyes to me too, apart from the age range and size of book - they were chunksters as I recall. But it was my first thought too upon reading the plot description.

Sakerfalcon - I wonder if the age discrepancy might not be in part because of the main character's lack of human customs and her "wild" actions? Because I have to say, other than the velvet cover, that's really sounding like it to me also.

Was the girl an elf-troll? Sounds like it could be A Mystery of Wolves, (part of the Little Fur series by Isobelle Carmody - the early editions were in purple velvet.
