A career burglar, Adam has never been caught and hasn't ever hurt anyone during the commission of a crime.

When an innocent kiss turns into a night of passion, Maggie is terrified that romance will destroy a lifelong friendship between her and Johnny, so she pushes him away. But the cowboy doesn't push easily, and sparks fly as the couple tries to find their happily ever after.

She's stubborn when she sets her mind on a goal, loyal to those she cares about, and determined to live her life her way. In order to follow her dream, Maggie leaves her home in New Jersey and travels to California. With Johnny's help, she finds a job with a trainer and starts racing his horses. But when David shows up, chaos follows, and she finds herself torn between the past and the present.

Although there are a few instances of the darker side of both racing and romance, the story is uplifting and ultimately makes the reader smile.
