There was a great story. And then there was the ending. The story is initially good and appeared to be a good lighthearted read which anybody would really enjoy. It was simple chick lit. But towards the end the story got absolutely ridiculous and pathetic. It wasn't even worth reading the last chapters, it didn't even make sense. 3 stars, closer to 2.5.

I thought this book made a lot of sense.
We know by now that low fat, or low carb or any kind of diet that is too low in something doesn't really work. I believe that you need to give your body a bit of everything and can't starve it of one type of food.

The science behind the hormones makes sense to me, and I could identify myself in the quizzes.
The text part is very short. maybe too short....the meal plans look delicious, but there isn't a lot of choice, which I don't like. I'm sure you can substitute one lunch plan for another if you want.

The recipes all look amazing. Almost all of them have pictures of the food, and it makes your mouth water. There is no way you will feel deprived with these meals. I can't wait to try some of them out, they look too delicious.
But they use a lot of foods that I don't normally have in the house, so will require a large shopping trip to stock up on those items. some, like lemon grass, may be hard to find in some areas, unless you live in a big city.

Overall, the food looks amazing, the book makes a ton of sense, but I know it would be very difficult for me to get some of the foods since I live in a remote area. I wish the recipes were just a little bit easier, or offered substitutions.

Borrowed from library as I wanted something to.dip into. It is based on her TV series of that name, which I don't remember.
There are various chapters related to clearing out your wardrobe, body size and shape, make up, style tips shoes ( she loves her high heels...well sorry I can't do high heels ! ) lingerie, leisure and swimming wear and hats.
It was a quick interesting read....a bit too focussed on dressing to please the male for my liking.
The make up chapter was very easy to follow..

The S Factor Diet The Happiest Way to Lose Weight - Drop a Dress Size in 2 Weeks by Lowri Turner
ISBN: 9781848990388
Based on dieting and how hormones play a big part in losing and maintaining weight. Love the explanation of how the hormones work in your body.
It's right on track.
There are also bullet lists of symptoms and which hormones from them you need to concentrate on eating more foods from.
The foods are very healthy and you di need to keep track of your cycles.
The book lists 14 days of meals, depending on your scores from the above factors: and then how to make them.
I think you really have to be dedicated enough to do the full diet in the 14 days allocated. It seems to me to be very time consuming if you are to use the foods they want you to prepare from the menus listed.
What makes it very easy is that each menu item is highlighted with which hormone the food will be stimulating.
Love how the recipes are displayed: the time is one thing that I pay particular attention to, and the ingredients needed.
Pictures of the food is very pretty. An index is at the back of the book making it easy to use to find a certain recipe or section.

It took me a good 100 pages before I really got into this book. It wasn't until I finished the book that I realized it was because I didn't really identify with either of the main characters. Hence why it took me a little while to get invested in what was happening to them. From that point on, I pretty much enjoyed the story. That said, more than half the book is spent on setting up the switching of the twins and then we really only get a third of the book for the switch itself and the resolution. In other words, the conclusion came way too quickly and was less than satisfactory. I could have done with a little less set up and a little more follow through. That said, I still enjoyed the overall story. I don't say this very often but I think it would make an interesting movie. Once I finished the book, I spent a good amount of time picturing how it could play out on the big screen. I don't know if that'd be considered a compliment or not but it certainly left an impression and got my brain juices flowing.
