Obviously since this is a collection of essays, the quality of the essays vary. Overall however it is very good worthy of a birthday present for Gordon Fee. I would like to point out two in particular. 1) N.T. Wright's New Exodus, New Inheritance brings out the story structure of Romans 3-8 and connects it back to the themes of exodus and inheritance. Note that this section deals with the Jews quite a bit, and these themes are prominent themes in Jewish theology and the OT. 2) Eugene Peterson's essay on the Paster Paul in Romans was extremely insightful and brought up some major points I've never noticed before. First, that Paul was a pastor before being a theologian. Secondly, he submitted himself to scripture, instead of using scripture as a prooftext to support his own ideas, philosophy or theology.… (más)
